The Great Big Rhino Project

This time last year I had a dragon in my garage…..  I am rather excited as there is now a ‘Great Big Rhino’ filling the hole left by GoGoDragon Drewscilla. I am very pleased that one of my designs has been selected for another fabulous Wild in Art sculpture trail.

The Great Big Rhino Project will bring a world class mass public art event to the streets, parks and open spaces of the English Riviera and Exeter. For 10 weeks in the summer of 2016, life-size rhino sculptures will inhabit the streets, showcasing the wealth of artistic talent in the area, while highlighting the significant conservation threat facing wild rhinos and how the local business community can make a difference. The Great Big Rhinos will be invading the streets from Saturday 30th July until Sunday 9th October 2016. They will then be at Paignton Zoo from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th October 2016 before being auctioned for charity in November 2016. The funds rasied from the auction will be used by Paignton Zoo to support rhino conservation.”

I would like thank Torbay Council & Torre Abbey for sponsoring my design, and also a big thank you goes to Torbay Clearance Services for delivering my rhino all the way to Norfolk.

Here’s a first and final snap shot of him in his temporary home. He hopes to be back in Devon in time for Christmas, and will be revealed to all summer 2016.
